dj popayata and dj sedyst have been dj-ing for over three years. in their performances they play with elements of pop, electronic music, jazz, and oriental sounds. for about a year now they have been experimenting together with musicians, like alper akkoc, who jam while the two djs spin their records. as a result of these performances a group has come to life called kanak dada, in which music as well as visuals are used to produce an atmosphere of music and theatre hall pointing at issues of politics within music and pop culture. the group performs in various cities and art centres, some of these being: volksbühne, berlin; metalkova, ljubljana; pavillion, hannover; and dasarts, amsterdam.

Im Jazzkeller wird Kanak Dada mit den improvisierenden-Musik Duo von Scott Currie (saxophones) und Klaus Janek (kontrabass) zusammenarbeiten.
