Alex Nowitz (Sänger und Komponist / geb. 1968): Hochschulstudien: Musikpädagogik und -wissenschaft, Gesang und Komposition in München, Berlin, Potsdam (D) und Potsdam (USA). Diplom 'mit Auszeichnung' (2000). Zahlreiche Konzerttätigkeiten als Instrumentalist (Pianist, E-Bassist) und vor allem als Sänger/Stimmvirtuose in Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz, Holland, Russland und Tschechien mit verschied. Projekten: z.B. 'Vol-Vox': (1989 -1996), 'No Doctor' (1994-1998), 'Astro-Peril' (1996-1998). Weitere Zusammenarbeit mit: Mathias Bauer, Joachim Gies, Michael Griener, Aleks Kokowski, Margaret Leng Tan (New York), Sakkari Luoma (Finnland), Vladimir Miller (London), Phil Minton (London), Ernst-Ludwig Petrowski, Friedrich Schenker, Tony Buck (Berlin/Sydney), Joe Williamson, John White (London), u.a. Diverse Platten- und CD-Aufnahmen und Veröffentlichungen. Kompositionen für Sprechtheater (Berlin, Potsdam, Halle) und für Tanz (Potsdam/Berlin). Kompositionen für verschiedenste kammermusikalische Besetzungen. Stipendien vom Land Brandenburg und der Stiftung Kulturfonds Berlin/Brandenburg. Teilnahme an der ersten Rheinsberger Opernwerkstatt für Komponisten unter der Leitung von Siegfried Matthus: Aufführung einer Opernszene ('Alles wird gut' aus: 'Die Bestmannoper') im Juli 2003.

Vladimir MIller: Born 1958, Chile. Studied trumpet & flute at Trent Park University, London 1981-1984. During this period he experimented with theatre and performance arts and regularly performed the works of composers such as Kurt Weill, as well as writing his own compositions and forming his own performing groups. From 1987 he played frequently in his jazz quartet on the London jazz circuit whilst maintaining residences over periods of two to three years as a solo pianist. In 1990 he formed a duo with saxophonist and vocalist Heather Joyce who co-wrote music that was performed at the Bath & London jazz festivals, and for the award winning theatre production of Carousel's 'Smokescreen' premiered at the Brighton Festival. Between 1992 and 1995 he travelled widely in the former Soviet Union including the Ukraine, Russia, the Baltics Tuva exploring new avenues of music and performing at major contemporary music festivals as a soloist and with Russian musicians. This resulted in two funded tours of Russia awarded by the British Council with multi-instrumentalist Paul Moss on one occasion, and on a music education project to Siberia and Tuva with percussionist and journalist Ken Hyder on another. He has contributed compositions to the Moscow Composer's Orchestra which he now directs and under his direction have released five Compact Discs to critical acclaim. The orchestra has performed extensively in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Russia and England. His pieces have been broadcast on the Impressions programme for BBC Radio and other major European radio stations. He is also a member of The Tsar's Components a musician's collective that embraces a myriad of stylistic references and approaches. In October 1995 the group was awarded a British Arts Council grant and consequently toured the south-west of England. In 1995 he was invited by Free Music Production in Berlin to perform an evening of solo piano and various group combinations including a duo with Steve Lacy. He continues to collaborate with many contemporary musicians and groups, most notably the trios Northern Lights and Vladimir Trio, the latter having toured Japan in October 1998 &recorded a CD to be released on the BAJ label.

Steven Heather- drums, percussion, electronics: Steven Heather studied percussion/improvisation at the Victoria College of the Arts (1991). Since 1994 Steven Heather has been performing and recording regularly in Australia, Europe and Asia with Jon Rose, Cor Fuller, Aardvark, Jan Bas Bollen, Richard Barrett, Jon Butcher, Jim Denly, Jaap Blonk, Anna La Berge, Anna McMichael, Andy Moor, Robin Hayward, Joe Willamson, Axel Doerner, Alex Kolkowski, Alex Nowitz and Alexander Waterman. He has also created music in the fields of dance, theatre, and performance. Most recently composing and/or performing for Scapino Ballett, N.D.T.3 (Netherlands Dans Theatre 3), Magpie Dance/Music Company, Gonnie Heggen, and fishing enterprise. Steven Heather uses a sampler controlled simultaneously from triggers placed on the percussion and STEIM ultra-sound hand controllers to take digital distortion and acoustic extremities as spring boards for improvisation and composition.
